In the Gardens

I took a wonderful trip to Alcázar here in Seville earlier this week. It was a real treat to see the inside of a castle and it's gardens. I learned a few tidbits about Muslim art and really enjoyed seeing up close how detailed and ornate everything was. I particularly liked the gardens because they were just so dream-like. My friend and I kind of got lost, but it's not so bad getting lost in such a beautiful place. 

This outfit was originally going to be worn with knee socks, but I've kind of missed the season for that now. Despite the change in plans, this outfit was super comfy and very easy to wear. Shorts are a pretty easy way to add some color to an outfit and pockets are always a plus.

Chateau de Versailles

The Chateau de Versailles was my first big place to visit in France. The Chateau is so huge and beautiful. I enjoyed the symmetry of everything, it was a different style to all of the modern curvature seen back in New York City. My friends and I spent most of our time sitting around and enjoying the view, which is just as spectacular as you could imagine. Being here in the off season of tourism is nice since there are less crowds, but at times we did get pretty cold, but that's a small price to pay for the wonderful time.

Those Little High Waisted Shorts

The universe seems to be against me taking pictures anywhere outside of this bed. I wore this outfit with some sheer tights earlier, intending to take picture out in the city, but that morning they ripped and continued to get runs in them through out the day. Guess we'll have to make due. 

I find this outfit so simple and cute. The sweater is easily the best thing I bought this summer. It's thin, but the softness of it beats anything I have in my closet. I break out these shorts every time I decide to be cute for the day. Unfortunately, they're super old and I haven't found anything similar to them in H&M, but there are a few on ModCloth's site that I've been eyeing.

It's gotten to that point in Summer where I constantly miss layers and straightening my hair. Alas, I still have a month to go of some serious heat and thunderstorms. Looks like I just have to embrace the frizz and lack of sweaters.

Parent Approved

From a young age my parents instilled in me a love for classic 80's movies. They were the movies that they watched when they were teenagers, and the ones I was sometimes forced to watch as a kid. Despite the required viewing, I love them so much that I now force my friends to watch them. It's important to enlighten those who are ignorant to the awesomeness. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this tee in Forever21. My venture into wearing men's graphic tee has been super successful. Though I have a more petite frame my torso is long and my shoulders are broad and mens tees accommodate this easily. That makes for a shirt I love that is also parent approved.
