5 Noteworthy Bags For Winter

My black, Zara city bag has been a great everyday bag for a couple of years now. Thankfully, it's also holding up well and I'm sure it will be my staple bag for a while. Though, recently, I've been getting that itch for something new. I've never personally been a 'bag-lady' but sometimes you need something that's a little more unique and brings some color to your outfit. Here's a few I've noted in my searches.

Structured Bags

I'm very attracted to ModCloth's bags. They have a great selection of classic, structures in a variety of colors. I can't resist the straight out of a vintage boarding school look. The Zara bag is a bit more unique and great for a night out. The dark blue color and embroidery also reminds me of Hermione's bag

Festive Red Bags

I've been having a bit of a red moment and it has worked its way into my choice of bags. BritStich has a great selection of buckle-front bags in a variety of sizes and colors, that all look stunning. I also have a soft spot for 90% of Madewell's items. Their purses are equally gorgeous and practical. I could seriously fill that tote up.

I hope a bag makes it way to your Christmas list,

Christmas/Winter Wish List 2015

Christmas/Winter Wish List 2015

Christmas/Winter Wish List 2015 by adayinthelife featuring a turtleneck sweater

It's that time of year again! The time where I dream of sugar plum fairies and TopShop's latest new arrivals. Here's what I'm hoping is under the tree (or on sale at the end of year mark downs):

Topshop petite dress
topshop.com

I love all of these woodland themed prints TopShop has on their website right now. I swear I could live in this dress. Perfectly casual, but also put together.

Turtleneck sweater

I'm on my third re-watching of Gilmore Girls and I'm pretty sure I could recite it at this point. The girls are clearly infiltrating my brain and now I'm lusting after their staple of a white turtleneck (from L.L. Bean no less!) It may not be the most stylish store, not by a long shot, but it's good quality and in a larger size it'll look much more modern. And really how could I comfortable read a book underneath a tree on campus without it?

Zara navy blue pants

So I was lusting after traditional flare jeans, but after some thinking I may want to try a cropped version instead. They're much easier to find than ones that actually have the right length for someone whose 5'2'' and they're much more geared towards a lighter spring wardrobe.

With all the editing I've been doing lately this one just seems like a given. Darn you AP style for not worshiping the oxford comma.

Dr. Martens 1460 Lace Low Boot
drmartens.com

I've been eyeing these Dr. Martens for awhile, but it may be time for them to officially be in my closet. I've lost a bit of my love for knee length boots, and these could really get me through some snowy days.

Like the Docs, I've been eyeing the Mary Lou Manizer for awhile, but when I saw the set I was like 'why not try them all!' A little crazy I'll admit, but they're so glittery and beautiful.

Grace A Memoir
amazon.com

Another long term lust and I think it's about time for me to read this one. I'm taking my last English class this semester so I'll finally be able to hop on my TBR list starting with the wonderful Grace.

Hope your getting into the holiday cheer,
xx Jasmine

Jewelry Roundup

As my style evolved these past few years, I have pretty much completely ignored jewelry. In high school I knew I wanted to depart from my usual, big, costume jewelry but that's as far as I got. I wanted something a little more sophisticated and stylish, but I didn't really know where to go beyond that idea, so jewelry has been missing from my outfits for awhile.

Recently, I figured out that I need to seek out jewelry that's pretty simple but still has a bit of quirk to it and spend a little more money than I used to (no more raiding Forever21). So as I continue to figure out what types of jewelry suits me I thought I'd roundup some of the jewelry I'm currently eyeing. Take a peek:

Christmas Wish List 2014

Christmas Wish List

Finals are kicking in soon so it's time for a wish list. My Christmas wish list isn't very abundant this year. Since I'll be abroad all of next semester I don't really want to buy anything that's going to be left in my room for four months. That being said, there are still some things I'm lusting after and hope to scoop up before I get on the plane and here they are:
BDG tent dress
urbanoutfitters.com

Celebrating my birthday in Europe is one of the major things I'm looking forward to and a cute, warm dress is a must buy before I leave. Right now I'm in love with this cozy turtleneck one from Urban Outfitters.

MANGO black velvet top
$47 - mango.com

I'm always looking for new sweaters, what can I say I get cold. This one from Mango is cute and uplifting.

MANGO khaki pleated skirt
$47 - mango.com

Though I have a very strong desire to wear them, I still haven't really figured out which types of skirts I want to add to my wardrobe. This skirt seems like a good place to start though because it's flirty but still sleek.

Got to keep my passport looking chic on my many travels.

MANGO black belt
$28 - mango.com

This is a rather boring item on the list, but I'm in desperate need of a new black belt. I love these types of buckles. I think they add a nice detail to any outfit.

At the moment I don't have any rollerballs I can take with me next semester so of course I see that as an opportunity to try the Elizabeth and James Nirvana perfumes I've been eyeing. They work well mixed together and separately they're great for transitioning from fall to spring.

Hedgehog home decor
lushusa.com

I've never tried anything from Lush before, but this year I've seriously fallen in love with looking at their holiday bath items online. This cute hedgehog is a must try over the break.

Honeycomb Shoulder Bag Lilac
$55 - thewhitepepper.com

I've been looking at a couple light purple cross-body bags this year and I find them so adorable. Purple is my favorite color even though I don't wear it often, so I think I should have at least one bag to make up for it.

Good luck to anyone taking finals soon!'

Space Invaders

Spring Wishlist

Blue dress, $53 / Tee and Cake red top / American Eagle Outfitters black jacket / River Island high-waisted jean shorts, $50 / Pixel Bird Print Top Koshka / Zara leather shoes / Mini zip bag / COLOR REVOLUTION

Hello! I've been having some pretty winter like weather recently, but hopefully spring is on its way. In the mean time I've been lusting over spring and summer clothes and my procrastination has inspired this post. Like every other season I'm excited to purchase some new clothes as well as bring back some old ones from storage, but I'm particularly thrilled now because I think I've got a clearer vision of what I want my style to be. I think now's the time I can truly start rebuilding my closet from the mess that was high school. Let's hope that works out, but for now here's my wish list:

Blue Dress: I was never a big dress wearer but I've been falling in love with so many recently. This one is just all around great. The color, the unexpected zipper, the preppy touch of the collar. I've been eyeing up some floral, flowy frocks as well.

Leather Jacket: I've been meaning to diversify my coat collection beyond more than just function, so of course the long quest for the perfect leather jacket for me has begun.

T-Shirts: I can't resist a good tee especially when it relates to me. One of my favorite sodas and a print that reminds me of Space Invaders Galactica - it's a no brainer. Plus they are easy to throw on over shorts or a nice skirt.

Backpack: I'm not really sure whether to call this a holographic or reflective or whatever print but it reminds me so much of my childhood and it's quite possible I might buy everything with this print on it.

High Waisted Shorts: I've official become obsessed with anything high waisted.  As for shorts I prefer a darker, sleeker pair to the the typical light and cut-off style.

Buckle Heels: With all of the practical college shoes I've been wearing recently I miss heels a lot. This pair is perfect for me to get my fix, plus they seem pretty wearable so no major pain.

Sunglasses: I love these sunglasses!! I'm seriously hoping I can find a cheaper alternative soon.

That's all for my wishlist. I hope you have a great week! :)

Ugly Sweater Weather

Christmas Wish List

Zara top / Sweater / London Rebel low-heel boots / Silvertone jewelry / ASOS ring / Aviator glasses / Oxford Library -- Book Lovers' Scented Soy Candle -- His Dark...

Hello! I wanted to share some of the ugly sweaters and other bits-and-bobs I'm hoping to get this Christmas. I'm so close to being done with finals and going back home I can almost feel my own queen sized bed.

Eye Lash T-shirt: Having long full eyelashes is really fun and I love to play them up whenever I do my makeup. This shirt feels like a nice ode to my lashes.

Flower Sweater: I spotted this sweater at Zara and it definitely appeals to my girly side.

Oxford Library scented Candle: I found candles at this Etsy shop and I want them so bad! How nice is it that I become obsessed with candles when I can't have them. At least when I come home I can smell some awesome nerd smells.

Antler Ring: I saw this ring and immediately thought Baratheons in Game of Thrones -- so naturally I wanted it.

Toy Solider Sweater: Too Cute!

Fair Isle Sweater: Also a super cute Christmas themed sweater.

Chelsea Boots: It's kinda late to hop on this trend's bandwagon but I've learned the easier it is to put on a shoe the more useful it is in college.

Sunglasses: These guys have been buried in my clothing wish list for ages and I just rediscovered them. Don't know why I ignored them for so long.

Pocket Watch: Basically, one day I thought it'd be cool to have a pocket watch. That's pretty much it. I guess we'll see how far that idea goes.

Hanging out by a Window

Ughhhhh! It has obviously been too long of a gap between posts, but lets just jump right in. I wore this two days ago to head out for the last of the after Holiday sales. It's almost obnoxious how much the prices drop! But since it most likely wont change, I embrace it and indulge in shopping sprees, one of them being how I got both the sweater and shorts of this outfit. During the break I mainly shopped and played my new favorite nerd game; Scrabble Flash. Seriously, its addicting and a word nerds best friend. There will be more posts to come soon. Promise!
P.S. No I am not wearing random, hipster glasses. They are my real ones . . . with a prescription and everything! =P
