Fish's Favorites: January 2016

My break is nearly over, and though I have been getting in my hours spent in sweatpants instead of taking outfit photos I have been loving other things besides clothes. So I collected some favorites for you that I've been dying to share.

Applying: I've been eyeing this Marc Jacobs polish in Petra for eternity it feels like. I've painted it over top of whatever I'm wearing every time I've been in Sephora the last few months and fell more in love each time.  I finally caved last week and got it for myself, and I may just where it constantly for the next few months. It has some purple and grey tones in amongst the silver glitter and I swear sometimes I can spy some gold in there as well. Overall it's pretty magical.
Soapwalla's deodorant was my last ditch attempt in natural deodorant. To say the least I did not have high hopes, but all the hype surrounding this is absolutely true. This stuff is super long lasting and allows me to never have to deal with those stupid white marks again. The fact that you have to apply it with your hands is definitely a hassle, but it's something I got over pretty quickly.

Smelling: Since I can't burn candles at school every vacation is like a challenge to see how many I can burn through. After finishing Yankee Candles Apple Cider, a personal favorite, I decided to try out Frostbeard's Bookstore. The woody scent is so unique and wonderful. It does transport you to an old, little bookstore and I will get it again. After I burned through it, I picked up Yankee's Luscious Plum in their sale.
I can't say I'm not familiar with Prada's Candy perfume. I've been lusting after this scent for ages, and with the passing of my Tommy Hilfiger Eau de Prep it was time for a change and there came along Prada. It's a delightful, rich, caramel, candy scent. Not my typical thing, but I find it so cool.

Wearing: Since I'm home and not dressing up as much, I've turned all my attention to loungewear and Aerie from American Eagle has been my favorite. Their flannel is so soft and wonderful to chill and/or sleep in. Aerie always have really awesome sales going on as well, so they are a huge win-win.

Watching:
I've taken a dive into late nineties television. I found the link to CWSeed one day on Tumblr and actually checked it out in early December. Watching Whose Line is it Anyway? got me through finals. Now I'm on Season 3 and I am still genuinely laughing out loud with every episode. The site can be a bit slow at times, and you do have to deal with commercials, but I enjoy the show too much to care. I've also been slowly getting through Scrubs on Netflix. Hilarious friendships always make for good shows, and I'm loving JD & Turk.

Moving: I've been doing Yoga With Adrienne videos since the summer, but I held off until break to try the 30 day challenge so I didn't have any excuses. Apparently that was a good call because I've been loving it. She makes it easy to really learn from the ground up as well as move on to more difficult postures. I also received a Lululemon yoga mat for Christmas and I don't know how I ever practiced without it. No more sliding around in Downward Dog for me.

Listening: A lot of the music I have been putting on for background noise has been Jazz lately. For a general nice and calm playlist I'd go with redbatrecords' November Rainfall (Jazz Edition.)  Miramane's Ladies' Party features some amazing female artists. And for songs that I still don't think are real, but will give you a laugh listen to ballendai's you thrill me when you drill me and other classy tunes.

Have a wonderfully lazy day,
x Jasmine

New Coat // Old Chucks

A new coat was a much desired item on my Christmas list this year. I still love my Burton coat that I've featured here and has shown up on many winter posts, but I felt I needed something a little more sleek and not green. How I managed to have four different coats and have three of them green, I couldn't tell you.  This one is an interesting take on the classic peacoat. I'm still getting used to having a larger coat, but it's sure to be cropping up more as it gets colder. For now I'll hide from the cold in my bed watching Whose Line is it Anyways? all day.
