Great Scott!!

I picked up this skirt before this school year started, but earlier this week was the first time I've worn it (I know, I'm super lame). All the pleats got a bit flattened in my suitcase but I think it'll regain it's shape once I return home. It's a really bright color, and really stands out in my closet, but with a little matching and some black it's a lot easier to style. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to catch more photos of my outfit so I'll make up for it with some cool facts I learned at the bull ring we visited:

  • Matadors in training train for years before actually performing in a bull fight
  • Only when you reach full matador status can you where the hat when coming into the arena
  • Bull fighting started as military training
  • The uniforms worn can weigh many pounds, not including the cape which is also very heavy and requires two hands to use
  • Matadors are the ones that have gold trimmings on their uniforms
(Picadores [the men on horses] may also have some gold detailing as a representation of they're importance in the original military bull fights)
  • Traditional capes aren't red they are actually pink and yellow

Don't mess with the bull,

Those dark spots on the arm are actually blood, this particular uniform was worn by a famous matador in Seville

In the Gardens

I took a wonderful trip to Alcázar here in Seville earlier this week. It was a real treat to see the inside of a castle and it's gardens. I learned a few tidbits about Muslim art and really enjoyed seeing up close how detailed and ornate everything was. I particularly liked the gardens because they were just so dream-like. My friend and I kind of got lost, but it's not so bad getting lost in such a beautiful place.
This outfit was originally going to be worn with knee socks, but I've kind of missed the season for that now. Despite the change in plans, this outfit was super comfy and very easy to wear. Shorts are a pretty easy way to add some color to an outfit and pockets are always a plus.

Stay cool,
xx Jasmine

Ps: This is where they filmed part of the new season of Game of Thrones. How cool is that?!

Heading Home

I'm currently sitting down waiting for my taxi to take me to the airport for my flight back to America. It's insane to think  about all I've done abroad. It's just so overwhelming to try and comprehend that I've actually done all of that and been to so many places now. It didn't come without its struggles, but it still is the most incredible thing I've done so far in my life.
The bright spot, despite it being time to leave, is though I've learned so much and come to love new things, NYC still has a special place in my heart.
There will be a much larger post coming soon about my entire experience having a semester abroad but for now I just want to keep it short and give a heads up that I'll be MIA (aka jet lagged) for a couple of days.

Goodbye for now Europe,
Xx Jasmine

London Photo Diary and City Edit

I spent my Spring Break going back to London and it was an excellent choice. I got to explore more places and it was a real treat. So, here's a photo diary, which kind of ended up being a food diary, after the jump.

60's Kitten

My Spring Break in London has come and gone, but I get to reminisce for the next two blog post so I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I really didn't intend for this outfit to come out so risqué or 60's inspired, but that's just how it worked out. I've been sitting (not literally) on this shirt waiting for the perfect time to where it and the current weather in London was perfect for it. I love the lace detail and the slight bell sleeve, it's quite unique compared to everything I've been seeing around lately.
Below you can see our adventures on The Eye (which was terrifying but kind of cool) and a mini stop in Shoreditch. FYI Dirty Burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had, if you can try it.
